How to join your Valheim server

Join your server

You only need to add your server once. After that, select it from your saved servers.

1. Open Valheim and choose Start game.
2. Choose your character.
3. Choose Start.
4. Choose Join Game.
5. If your server is not in the list, choose Add server, enter its address from the Overview page including the port, then choose Add server to confirm.
6. Select your server and choose Connect.
7. When prompted, enter the password from the Password field.

Join through Steam

If you play through Steam, you can also join from your dashboard:

1. Click Join now on the Overview page. Allow your browser to open Steam if prompted.
2. When prompted for a password, copy it from the Password field, then return to Valheim and paste it to join.

Troubleshooting

Password not working?

If you recently changed the password, restart the server before joining with the new password.
