Manage your Enshrouded user groups
Choose passwords, permissions, and reserved slots for your players.
How user groups work
The password a player joins with determines their user group and permissions.
Configure a group
- In the User groups table, edit an existing group or choose Add group.
- Set the group’s name and password, then choose permissions and reserve player slots.
- Choose Save & Restart to apply the change immediately, or Save to apply it on the next restart.
Each group must have a unique password.
Choose permissions
| Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Kick and ban players | Moderate other players. |
| Access inventories | Use containers and stored items. |
| Edit world | Change terrain and world objects. |
| Edit base | Build within existing bases. This also enables Edit world. |
| Extend base | Build beyond existing base boundaries. This also enables Edit base and Edit world. |
For example, enable Access inventories and leave the other permissions off to let a group use stored items without allowing them to edit the world or bases.
For more about the game’s roles, see the official Server Roles Configuration guide.
Reserve player slots
Reserved slots keep room for members of a group when other groups fill the server. They are part of the limit set in the Player slots field, rather than extra capacity. The total reserved across all groups must not exceed that limit.
For example, with 10 player slots and 2 reserved for a Friends group, other groups can occupy at most 8 slots. The remaining 2 stay available for Friends.
Share the right password
Copy the password from the User groups table and share it with that group’s players. Share the new password after changing it and restarting.
