Terms of service

How our managed game hosting works, including subscriptions, cancellations, refunds, and your responsibilities when you use the service.

Who we are

BetaHost provides managed game hosting and is registered in Denmark under CVR number 46827406. These terms cover your use of our website, account dashboard, and hosting services. For hosting questions, support requests, or complaints, email contact@betahost.org.

Your account

You must be legally able to enter into a contract to buy hosting. If you act on behalf of an organisation, you must have permission to agree to these terms for it.

Keep your account and billing information accurate, protect your sign-in details, and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for the server settings, access permissions, and content you manage through your account.

What the service includes

We provide managed game hosting for the game and plan you select at checkout. We handle server setup, resources, updates, and backups, and provide dashboard controls for supported settings and operations.

Game server updates are automatic and cannot be delayed or disabled. You can upload, download, and manage server files through the dashboard. We do not provide FTP, SSH, or arbitrary plugin installation. Features described as coming later are not included until they are released.

You and your players must have any game licences required to play and follow the relevant game and platform terms. Game publishers control their software, features, and compatibility.

Subscriptions and payments

The price, currency, taxes, and billing interval are shown at checkout. Subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically at the selected interval until cancelled. Stopping a game server does not cancel its subscription.

Stripe is the seller of record for subscriptions, handling payments, billing, and fraud prevention. The purchase terms presented at checkout also apply to your transaction. BetaHost provides and supports the hosting service.

Keep a valid payment method on your subscription. If payment fails, your server may be suspended while payment is retried and the subscription may end if payment remains outstanding.

Cancelling a subscription

You can cancel renewal from the billing section of your dashboard. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period, then ends without another renewal charge. You can resume renewal before that date if you change your mind.

Cancelling renewal does not request a refund.

Refunds and your consumer rights

Our 14-day money-back guarantee covers a full refund of your initial payment. Renewal payments are excluded. Request a refund from the billing page within 14 days of purchase. Your subscription ends and your server stops when the request is processed.

This guarantee is in addition to your legal rights. EU consumers normally have 14 days after agreeing to an online service contract to cancel it without giving a reason. This is called the right of withdrawal. You can exercise an applicable withdrawal right using the refund button on the billing page or by emailing contact@betahost.org with a clear statement that you wish to cancel, identifying your account and purchase. Starting hosting does not by itself waive that right. See the EU guidance on withdrawal rights.

Nothing in these terms limits any right to a refund, price reduction, or other remedy required by the consumer law that applies to you.

Acceptable use

Use BetaHost for its intended game hosting purpose. You must not:

  • Use the service for unlawful activity or upload content you have no right to use.
  • Distribute malware, carry out network attacks, or attempt to access another customer’s account, server, or data without permission.
  • Bypass security controls, payment requirements, or the limits of your hosting plan.
  • Deliberately disrupt other customers or use hosting resources for unrelated tasks such as cryptocurrency mining.

You manage access to your server and must take reasonable steps to address misuse by players you allow to join.

Your world and backups

You retain your rights to the content you upload. You give us permission to store, copy, and process it as needed to host, back up, restore, and support your server. You must have the rights and permissions needed for that use.

Backups help with recovery, but cannot repair every damaged or incompatible world. Keep your own downloaded copies of important worlds. Uploading or changing world files, restoring a backup, or resetting a world can replace or remove your current world data.

Worlds and backups are scheduled for deletion with the server 30 days after the subscription ends. Deleted or replaced backup copies are scheduled for removal after a further 30 days. Until server deletion, you can download your backups from the dashboard. Hosting ends with your subscription.

Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information, how long we keep it, and your privacy rights. As a server owner, you control your server settings and use of player information. You are responsible for that use.

Availability and support

We work to keep hosting reliable and resolve problems on our side. Maintenance, updates, network incidents, and game bugs can interrupt access or affect performance. We cannot promise uninterrupted service or fix every issue in third-party games.

Contact us if the service is not working as described. These practical limits do not exclude our responsibility to provide the service with reasonable care and skill or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Suspension and termination

We may restrict or end access where reasonably necessary to address a serious breach of these terms, non-payment, security risks, or a legal requirement. Where practical, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve the issue. Urgent threats or legal restrictions may require immediate action.

You can contact us to challenge a restriction or request account closure. Ending access does not remove any refund or other rights you have under applicable law.

Changes to the service or these terms

We may update the service and these terms as features, costs, or legal requirements change. We update the date above when these terms change.

We notify you by email at least 30 days before price increases or other material changes affecting you take effect. We may give shorter notice where urgent legal or security requirements make it necessary.

Price increases take effect at the first renewal at least 30 days after notice. Already-paid billing periods keep their agreed price. You can cancel renewal before a new price takes effect.

Changes do not reduce rights you already have for purchases made under earlier terms or override mandatory consumer protections.
