Download your world
Save a copy of your world to your computer from a server backup.
The download contains the world files from the backup you choose. Progress made after that backup is not included.
If you want a fresh copy and your subscription is still active, create a manual backup first.
Download a backup
- Open Backups.
- Select a successful backup in the History table, using its Requested date and time to choose the copy you want.
- Choose Download in the Details panel. Keep the page open and the backup selected while the download is prepared.
The download starts automatically when it’s ready. Save the ZIP file to your computer and extract it to access your world files.
You can play the downloaded world on your computer using the steps below, or upload it to a BetaHost server. To return the same server to this backup, restore it through Backups.
Play your downloaded world
These steps are for Windows PCs. Close the game and copy your existing local world files somewhere safe before adding the downloaded world.
Paste the paths in the numbered steps directly into File Explorer’s address bar. Windows replaces %USERPROFILE% with your user folder automatically. The examples use C:\Users\JohnDoe as the Windows user folder; yours may have a different name.

Valheim

- Open
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds_localin File Explorer and create a folder with any name you choose, such asMyWorld. - Open your new folder and copy the extracted files and folders into it, keeping their names and folder structure. The ZIP contains the world’s contents without an enclosing folder.
- Open Valheim and choose the imported world from the world list.
The developers’ save FAQ explains where world files are stored, restoring copies, and moving worlds to Steam Cloud.
Final file location
Your new folder should sit directly inside your local worlds_local folder. If you name it MyWorld, the files should look like this:
C:\Users\JohnDoe\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds_local\
└── MyWorld\
├── _main.1.fwl2
├── _main.1.db2
├── _main.1.chunks
├── _main.1.ok
├── 00_00__0_1.chunk
└── 00_01__0_1.chunk
Save numbers and chunk files will vary. Keep all the files from your world folder together.

Enshrouded

- Open
%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\keen games\Enshrouded\defaultin File Explorer and copy the extracted files and folders into it, keeping their names and folder structure. - Open Enshrouded and select local saves in the world selection menu to find your world.
The Save data section of the official 1.0 release notes explains the local save location and local/cloud selection.
Final file location
After copying, world0.ksd and the backup folder should sit directly inside your local default folder:
C:\Users\JohnDoe\Saved Games\keen games\Enshrouded\default\
├── world0.ksd
└── backup\
├── world0.ksd.backup-0
├── world0.ksd.backup-1
├── world0.ksd.backup-2
├── world0.ksd.backup-3
├── world0.ksd.backup-4
├── world0.ksd.backup-5
├── world0.ksd.backup-6
├── world0.ksd.backup-7
├── world0.ksd.backup-8
└── world0.ksd.backup-9
Backup numbers and counts may vary. Worlds upgraded from Early Access may also include a migrated folder with the original world files.
Download after your subscription ends
You can download existing backups for 30 days after your subscription ends, including after a refund. You cannot create new backups during this period. Download any copies you want to keep before your server and its backups are deleted.
