Manage your server files

Before you change files

File access requires an active subscription. You can browse files while the server is running, but the server must be stopped to upload, download, or change them.

What is in Save?

Save contains your world data. Use Settings to change your game settings.

Valheim

Save opens directly inside the active world’s folder. Its contents include files such as _main.1.fwl2, _main.1.db2, _main.1.chunks, _main.1.ok, and .chunk files. The numbers and chunk files vary as the world is saved.

Keep all the files from a world together when uploading or copying it.

Enshrouded

Your server’s world is stored in world0.ksd. The backup folder contains the game’s own backup copies. Worlds upgraded from Early Access may also include a migrated folder with their original files.

These folders are separate from the backups managed through BetaHost’s Backups tab. Character saves remain on each player’s computer.

Upload files and folders

To replace your current world, follow Upload an existing world for the files and folder layout your game needs.

1. Open Files and select the destination folder.
2. Choose Upload files and select files from your computer. To upload folders with their contents, drag them from your computer into the destination folder.
3. If a name is already in use, choose Replace file to overwrite an existing file, Keep both to upload under a different name, or Skip to leave it unchanged. For a folder, Use folder uploads into the existing folder and asks separately about file conflicts.

Keep the page open until the uploads finish. ZIP files are uploaded as files; extract them on your computer first if you want to upload their contents.

Download a file

1. Open Files and find the file you want to download.
2. Right-click the file or use its menu button, then choose Download. Keep the page open until the download finishes.

Downloads here are for individual files. To save a complete world, including its folders, download a backup.

Move or copy files

1. Open Files and select the files or folders you want to move or copy.
2. From the toolbar or right-click menu, choose Cut to move them or Copy to make another copy.
3. Open the destination folder and choose Paste.

Rename a file or folder

1. Open Files and select the file or folder you want to rename.
2. Choose Rename, enter the new name, then choose Save.

Delete files and folders

1. Open Files and select the files or folders you want to remove.
2. Choose Delete, then confirm.
